Dan and Deb’s Story

Fourteen years ago, Deb and Dan’s story began in the most unexpected way.

After each losing our longtime spouses, we met, instantly connected, and realized we had found something truly special. Just three months later, we were married and began a new chapter together in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Since then, we’ve been living our best life—and sharing that joy with others through travel.

We love the outdoors and embrace every opportunity to ski, bike, hike, kayak, and explore. But our greatest passion is discovering Europe’s remarkable regions, cultures, food, wine, and traditions. That passion inspired us to create small-group journeys where our guests experience Europe the way we do—through authentic local connections, active adventures, exceptional cuisine, and unforgettable moments.

At Morningstar, we have one simple rule:

We never offer a tour we haven’t personally experienced—and we personally accompany every tour we offer.

Every destination is carefully researched and visited by us in advance. We stay in the hotels, meet the local guides, ride the bike routes, sample the restaurants, and experience each itinerary ourselves before inviting our guests to join us. If it isn’t exceptional, it doesn’t become a Morningstar tour.

Dan founded Morningstar nearly four decades ago, building a reputation for expertly organized ski adventures throughout Europe, America, South America, and New Zealand. Over the years that mission expanded to include cultural immersion tours featuring gourmet food and wine, scenic walks and bike rides, fascinating local history, and meaningful experiences beyond the typical tourist itinerary.

What truly sets Morningstar apart is our personal involvement. We don’t simply organize tours—we travel with you. From the day you arrive until the day you return home, we’re there to ensure everything runs smoothly and to help create memories you’ll treasure for years to come.

Many of our guests return again and again and we treasure our old friends. But  nothing brings us greater satisfaction than welcoming first-time travelers into the Morningstar family. We love what we do, and we’d be honored to share our passion for Europe with you.
