Dan the Ski Man at Bridger Bowl three years ago… “Bridger is like going back in ski time. Amazing terrain, amazing powder quality, no lift lines, $6 burgers. I LOVE Bridger Bowl and have to return!”

Bridger captivated Skiman three years ago after doing his first tour there. He has wanted to return ever since.  Bridger Bowl contains so much of what is lacking in today’s corporate – owned American resorts. It represents what many of us miss, how   skiing used to be. No hype, no lift lines, inexpensive food and drink, the possibility of getting fresh tracks into the afternoon…. This is Bridger Bowl. Going to this magical place is like going back in time. If you want something unlike almost anywhere else, if you want to enjoy a pristine environment surrounded by nothing but nature, if you want to enjoy an awesome, beautiful  town with great dining options and no crowds, come with us to Bridger Bowl.  It will restore your love for what skiing used to be. It is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly crazy ski world.

No crowds, few lines,  powder dryer than anywhere. Liquid smoke!

Time to ski Bridger Bowl, Montana…. again!

We have limited space for this tour. Deposit by the end of November or sooner.

-Uncrowded, relaxed environment…. a  ski hill that offers good skiing for all levels of skiers.

-Off-the- beaten track. No slope-side condos or hotels. Just skiers, the mountain, and  the surrounding beauty of  Montana mountain ranges.

-A resort that offers outstanding value for your skier dollars.  Some resorts are now charging over $200 for a day pass. Bridger’s pass…. less than $70.

– The charming western town of Bozeman to enjoy at night. Again, without the hype, without the crowds.

~A four-star boutique hotel right in the heart of downtown Bozeman.  The RSVP Hotel is top-rated by everyone. It has a full-service on-site restaurant and bar and is in the middle of dozens of downtown dining choices and night life.

“Skiing at Bridger Bowl was a blast. There were NO lift lines and a ton of fresh dry powder. Skiing Mundy’s bowl was steep, with chutes, if you’re willing and able to drop in.  The town of Bozeman is fun with some great local restaurants and breweries.  This is a ski trip I would do every year.  Dan “The Ski Man” makes it all happen.”   Dave Tipton

. What started out as a very small local hill in the 1950s has morphed.  With 2,700 vertical feet, 2,000 acres, 75 trails, and 8 lifts, Bridger is  now a nice-sized modern resort. But it is still run as a non-profit hill by the parks department of Bozeman and its mission is  to provide a great ski experience for folks who love skiing. There is skiing for every level and if you are an expert, it offers some of the most challenging lift-serviced terrain in America! An added bonus is the town of Bozeman.  The downtown area is flat out cool, with fun bars and restaurants within a short walking distance from our hotel. We are a bit biased, because in many ways Bozeman  reminds us of our hometown,  Bend, Oregon, which we love.

The Skiing: Bridger Bowl has terrain and runs for every level of skier. There is plenty there to keep any skier busy for 3 or 4 days. A huge bonus for experts is Ridge Terrain which presents some of the most challenging lift-serviced terrain within any ski area boundary. Numerous steep chutes, rock cliffs, and snow fields, no grooming,  and  no marked trails are there for the expert to explore. The steeps here are truly epic and this is one huge factor that has put Bridger on the map. As with backcountry skiing anywhere, an avalanche transceiver is required to ski this expert-only lift and can be rented if needed. BONUS DAY: We will be hiring  local guides for our experts for a day  (at extra cost) so that this expert  region of the resort can be explored safely. Non-experts, don’t worry!  This is only a small part of the resort and there is plenty of other groomed  runs for everyone.  The ridge terrain is just a cherry on the cake for experts.  As to snow quality, Bridger Bowl is known for its  uber-dry powder that makes for skier’s dreams. February is the prime time to hit up this part of Montana, and the odds of catching some fresh powder are good.

Add a 4th day at Bridger 4th day pass: Three day lift pass  is included. Adding a fourth day is cheap and easy.  $69 for adults, $39 for seniors.

Add a day trip to Big Sky?  If you want you could opt for a day trip to Big Sky on your own.  There is a shuttle bus that runs daily for the 2 hour ride to Big Sky.  You would have to get a your lift pass at Big Sky. If you want the ticket that includes the tram it will cost you $219. (ummm: see why we like Bridger!)  It is an option… up to you. We are not organizing this for the group. It is on you to put it together if you are interested.

“No shortage of snow.  This Hidden Lodge has pre-ski breakfast for skiers. You pick what you want cooked up. Quick way to get up and out on the slopes. Off-piste ridge skiing or on area tree glades – all great. something for everyone!”      Diane Roberts

The day lodge is so retro and cool. Go back in time to the land of $4 breakfast burritos and $6 burgers. This place was buried when we were there three years ago. Hoping for more of the same this year!

How do you get there Fly into Bozeman, Montana airport, arriving ANY TIME on February 9, 2022. The time of your arrival on February 9and your departure on February 14 is not  critical. The airport is only 15 minutes from town. You just grab a cab for the ride in. At the end of the trip, reverse it and take a cab to the airport whenever you need. CAUTION: Do NOT purchase air until we have reached our minimum number of participants for the trip to be a go. Once we have received the requisite number of deposits, we will give the go-ahead to purchase your air.

Getting to/from the ski hill each day  It is  a 25 minute ride each way from our hotel in Bozeman to the resort. We will have a pick up truck  for the skis and all-wheel drive vehicles for the skiers. The cost of this is not included in the package price. Once we have determined the final count of participants, we will divide the cost of the vehicles and the fuel among us. Guesstimate: $70 per person  plus a little bit per person for gas.

Important note about rental vehicles:  Like so many things, the insanity of the past 18 months has sorely effected rental car costs. The rental companies sold off a ton of their cars when people stopped traveling. When they went to buy replacements, they found new cars to be in short supply. Because of the shortages of everything, there are now 1/3 the normal number of new vehicles available. The result is that car rental prices have doubled or tripled in many locations.  Upon fist search for vehicles for this tour, Skiman  was in shock. He literally saw some SUVs renting for $2,900 for the five day trip! It took a lot of time and thinking outside the box, but Skiman found a work-around to make our transport affordable.  Long story, happy ending…. we have it covered.
