DO AS A STANDALONE TOUR OR AS AN ADD-ON TO THE PRECEDING SALT LAKE SKI TOUR.

McCall, Idaho is our home base for this tour. Located on the shores of a lake, it sports good restaurants and a very laid-back vibe.
Secret places, hidden gems, fun hideaways… We all love to find and explore such places. Two years ago we found a ski resort and town in Idaho that captured us: Brundage. We are going back for the third time. Skiing here and staying in McCall is retro and refreshing. It is more the way skiing used to be. Skiing and staying here is a breath of fresh air. You willbe able to relax and enjoy yourself on every level on this tour. This will be our third tour to Brundage and McCall in two years. That says it all.

Brundage offers some the best snow to be had in Idaho. It also has NO crowds or lift lines. It is retro-skiing at its best.

The powder is plentiful, dry, and light, both at the resort of Brundage and on the backcountry Snow Cat ski days. This region gets the most snow in Idaho.
The skiing: Brundage is not a huge resort by any measure, but it SKIS huge! Brundage has been around for a long time. They have, over the decades, done a tremendous amount of work at thinning out the trees and creating nice trails so that you can ski almost everywhere. The tree skiing in Brundage is wonderful. Some of the best in the West. The trails are perfect for all level of skiing. The snow is usually abundant (they get the most in Idaho). Each time we have gone, it was powder skiing every day. Top this all off by adding in one of the finest snow cat skiing operations (cat option explained below) in the U.S. and you have a super location for a ski vacation you won’t forget.
UNIQUE ASPECTS OF THIS TOUR:
You can ski the resort or you can backcountry snow cat ski or you can do both! Here is the unique aspect of this tour. Brundage is a fun resort with uncrowded skiing. Great for all level of skier. Threre are four potential ski days. For beginners, intermediates, or experts who do not want to ski on the snow cat days, Brundage affords the opportunity to ski four great days in the resort. For experts who would like to snow cat ski in the backcountry, great! You can sign up for one to four snow cat days. The snow cats leave right from the ski resort. It is a slick operation and makes it easy to do either/ or, cat or resort.
You can do this tour to Idaho as an addendum trip to our Salt Lake City 4 day ski tour immediately preceding. We are offering a great ski package to Salt Lake City, skiing Snowbird, Alta, and Snow Basin February 13-17. Why not consider joining our Salt Lake trip and then doing a short flight up to Boise to carry on with our Idaho tour? You fly into SLC, then on to Boise, then return home from Boise. Contact us about this.

The Cat skiing is so fun here! You ski untracked powder all day long with no other skiers around. You have great hot lunches in backcountry yurts. What’s not to love?!
Snow Cat skiing: Skiman has snow cat skied in many resorts in the U.S. and Canada. Hands down, the snow cat skiing we did last year at Brundage was the best I have done! First of all, it is affordable, costing half as much as cat skiing we have done in Canada and elsewhere. The terrain they have consists of thousands of acres with all kinds of different slope aspects and exposures. There is almost always some good snow to be found. The cats are modern and comfortable. The guides are the best. They know the terrain like the back of their hands and are a blast to ski with. All 16 of our skiers who joined us last year for this adventure LOVED IT! For those of you who came last year, come again this year! We barely scratched the surface on all the skiable terrain they have at their disposal. I am sure we will find new regions to rip up that we did not touch last year!
How the cat skiing works: The cost for the cat skiing per day is $269 (Saturday cat ski day only , add $20 weekend surcharge). It includes 8 hours on the cat in the backcountry, the guides, powder skis if you need them (no charge!), a fab lunch daily in backcountry mountain yurts, and unlimited powder skiing fun. We have limited space so sign soon. Some cat days sell out quickly. The skiing on the cat days is not any more difficult than skiing black diamond resort runs. Actually, most of it is easier because the snow is untracked and there are no other skiers to contend with. If you can ski black runs, you can snow cat ski. We had a couple of advanced intermediate skiers who joined us last year for a day. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were not overwhelmed. It is not extreme skiing, it is just extremely good skiing!

Location/ logistics: McCall is about 2 hours west of Boise. We fly into Boise and travel from there in group rental vehicles provided in your tour. These vehicles will also be used to carry us to/from the ski resort, about 25 minutes from our hotel.
Transportation notes: Transfers to/from the airport to the hotel on both ends of the tour are included. Transport to/from the ski resort is included in rental vehicles. We have built a rental car component into the trip. If the final costs of the rental vehicles is more or less than our guesstimate, then the difference per person will be sorted out at the end of the tour. Gas for the vehicles is not included. This cost will be calculated at the end of the tour and paid by all participants. Cost should be nominal.
Air: We are not holding group air space for this tour. We will book the best air that works for each person, dependent on their gateway city, their status on an airline, etc. Because we can only book air for you once you commit to the trip, we urge you to let us get your air for you as soon as possible. The closer it gets to the departure date the more expensive the air will become.
USING MILES? No problem! Just contact us and make sure your times mesh with our trip constraints.
Driving to McCall on your own and meeting the group in McCall? Not a problem! We will subtract the rental van cost out of your package.
Deposits: Initial deposit is due at time of booking your air and is determined by the air cost plus $125 dollars. IF YOU ARE DOING ANY SNOW CAT DAYS YOU MUST ADD AN ADDITIONAL $150 TO THE DEPOSIT AMOUNT DUE. The final payment for the trip is due 30 days prior to departure.
Cancellation penalties: After initial deposit is made, the penalty is $100 plus the penalties assessed by the airline that issues your ticket. After final payment is made, cancellation penalty is $175 plus any cancellation penalties assessed by the hotel, the airlines, or any other service provider associated with the tour.
What to do: To get into the mix, contact us as soon as possible. We need to get your air. Again: we are not holding air this year for our tours. It is more advantagious for our skiers to book the air individually. The sooner you book, the better chance we have of getting your air at a good rate.
